Broward College North Campus Fine Arts presents the latest lineup of nationally and internationally acclaimed artists comprising the 2016 – 2017 STEAM Visiting Artist Series. Artists in this year’s series create work that addresses the theme “Future Environments”, or 21st century environmental, social and individual concerns regarding  changes in climate, ecology, natural resources and our increasingly complex relationship with existing and emerging technologies. Each artist in the series will present their work and the multitude of ideas they explore in a 7pm lecture.

Join us as Los Angeles-based artist Tiffany Trenda lectures about her performances and installations which explore the relationship of the human body, particularly the female body, to technology. Trenda interchanges her identity with screens to represent how we conceal and reveal ourselves through our devices (smart phones, computers, etc.). As these devices become an integral part of our daily lives, we relate to them as if they are part of our skin.

Trenda’s interactive performances have been seen at prestigious museums and art fairs around the country and internationally, from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China.

Join us the following day, Thursday March 30th from 2-2:30pm in the North Regional Library lobby for an interactive performance by Tiffany Trenda entitled “Proximity Cinema”, in conjuntion with the wRites of Spring festival.
