Scan, touch, and interact are words that have completely changed meaning in the past 30 years. What was once a physical action of the human body now describes human-to-machine interaction. Artist Tiffany Trenda will discuss her work in context of these social behaviors and explore the relationship of the human body, particularly the female body, to technology. As our devices become an integral part of our daily lives, we relate to them as if they are part of our skin and part of our identities. This talk will focus on how fine artists use 3D printing and other tools to explore our culture.
Speakers include: Francis Bitonti, Sylvia Heisel, Brad Rothenberg, Kegan Schouwenburg, Tiffany Trenda, Michaella Janse Van Vuuren, Nervous System, Jorge Ayala, XYZ Workshop & Ultimaker, Alexis Walsh, and Lucy Beard
