The performance “Specular” presents the different archetypes of “narcissism” in new media. Trenda floats on an immersive cloud of reflection creating a sense of vertigo. With vibrant deep blues and silk reds, the piece plays upon beauty and sensuality. Standing on a crystal like plane, with a mask of dual faces, Trenda performs with movements influenced by butoh performance and modern dance. The installation consists of 2-mirrored video projections and a 15” LCD screen. The video on the screen is a mirrored image of the artist’s face and hands.
